DOSTI seeks to develop and improve water supply and sanitation programs in the North West Frontier Province, Pakistan, providing clean water for communities through improvement of shallow wells, installation of hand pumps and development of gravity springs, drilling boreholes, and tube wells. The purpose here is a preventive measure against disease in remote areas of the community. This accomplished through the provision of sanitary facilities, waste management and water chlorination. For this purpose 85 hand pumps have been installed in different areas of the NWFP.
